Hi All,
Despite my hopes my beloved Katana is being written off. There was extensive damage to the cosmetics, with each piece of plastic suffering some form of damage. Other components were likewise damaged or impacted. However, the frame sliders held up well and they had bent without bending the frame. Unfortunately, I won't be riding this Katana again.
So, the question is what next?
I thought about a buy back but the insurance company hasn't confirmed it's an option. To be honest, I'm not sure if I have the gumption to repair the bike and I certainly won't be able physically do it for a number of weeks if not months. The fracture was severe and the doctor indicated a 6 month recovery, presuming there is no surgery. Buying a "new" machine is the most likely route, but which one will match my last Katana?
Anyway, I've been browsing around and I think I deserve another machine. Everyone else thinks I'm crazy about getting another bike. It's obvious they hadn't experienced the unmatched joy of motorcycling.
