  • Gas leak...

So yesterday I came home from the MSf course, I needed to move the bike to get to my air tank to fill the tire of my car. So I decide to start the bike and it hesitated, the battery might be going so it started and I left it on choke for a while maybe a minute. I waited till the bike got a little warm and decide to give it some rev it maybe to hard. I turn it off and went to talk to a friend, a few minutes later a come back to the bike and notice that there is gas all over the floor, I started to look where it was going from and it look from behind the petcock I out my hand in there and it felt like it was from there or maybe from behind. I move the petcock a few times to see it it would make it stop and it didn't. So I move the bike around a bit and even shook it. I ran to get some cat litter to soak up the gas when I came back it had stop leaking. I clean out the gas on the floor, and let the bike stand there for a while to make sure it had stop leaking. I didn't have time to take the fairing off to take a closer look, maybe tomorrow.

What could have been or could be? Did I rev it to hard?

Fuel line hose between the petcock and the carbs is cracked, leaking probably. That's why the leak started & stopped with the engine (and why the engine was hard to start).

I will take a look tomorrow. Can I replace the line with regular fuel line from a suto shop?

Yup, just bring a piece of the old hose with you to make sure you get the right size.
