Okay, just spent the last half hour researching windscreens on the site but really didn't find any info I thought would help.

I would like to change my windscreen to one that offers a little better wind aerodynamics and forces the wind up over my fat head rather than into my snowplow sized chest.

I was thinking about a sport tour version that is 2 - 3 inches taller and then I read a suggestion about a double bubble. I did a little more research on a double bubble but did not see any pics to give me an idea of what it would be like.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks as always, Joe.

There are touring windsheilds available from certain vendors (including some European vendors). Try searching for GSX600F windshields instead of Katana windshields.

Meanwhile, the wind hitting your upper-chest is the way the bike is specifically designed. At speeds over about 40 mph, that wind should effectively push sufficiently to lift your torso up on a pillow of air, so your wrists stop having to support your body-weight.

If the result of this is helmet buffetting, try changing jackets or helmets with a friend temporarily and see if the problem goes away -- certain combinations of helmets & jackets tend to spill air in such a way that causes excess bob & weave by the helmet.

      Cheers,

Cyber, always so helpful. When I ge to FLA I'm gonna buy you a keg.

I don't have any issue with my helmet bopping and weaving, and I understad what you said about a pillow of air, makes good sense. Just find the constant wind causes fatigue on long rides.

Maybe it is my seating position. But if anyone is using a longer windshield it would be nice to hear what they have learned from the use.

I use a stock-sized windshield, but I do also use a Corbin saddle that puts me about an inch lower in the seat...

Very cool. $80.00 plus S/H for $3.00 worth of plastic and labour. A bit large.

I think that PUIG in Germany(?) had a few options for GSXXXXFs, but I have not been able to find an American distributor. They also have tire huggers, but the shipping is way up there.

Contact the manufacturer and ask for their american distributor. If they don't have one and you want the shield, I will arrange to get it for you at a discount.

I have used laminarlip this summer. What I notice is less buffeting/turbulences if I drive behind a car or if it's windy. Best thing is the wind does not hit my arms so much (In cold weather my arms used to freeze - now it's much better). The lip is wider than std. windscreen so it lifts the airflow but also widens the "hole" windscreen makes to air.
