  • Concealed Handguns

Here in Texas those that have a CHL can carry a concealed handgun just about anywhere. However, a CHL holder can not "legally" carry in an establishment where 50% of sales are from alcohol…so Bars are off limit. Short of saddle bags…is there anything out there that will conceal and lock the handgun to the bike while at the bar and etc.? When out on a long ride I would hate to get caught carrying unlawfully.

Sounds like you need a nice .380 to put under the seat...9mm like power with a smaller package...

Why would you be riding your bike to the bar? Not a great idea.

You can carry in a bar in Oregon. It's not illegal, but they advise there are places you shouldn't carry here. I don't go to bars much, but guns and alcohol don't mix anyway. It's like you're inviting trouble--or at least going to the source of a lot of it. I wouldn't leave a handgun in my car or bike either.

On day rides and commutes "packin'" may not be advisable, but I can see some instances where you'd like to have a "friend" along.

When I road to The Gap last summer I asked the advice of a few LEO's about carrying a concealed weapon.

The on-duty LEO advice: Not worth it.
With all the different laws governing firearms from state to state I probably would break 10 by the time I got to Arkansas.

Off-duty advice: Don't say nothin' and do what you have to do, just be mindful of the consequences.

I ended up figuring that if I did run into some stupidness in the middle of Buttfloss, MS or somewhere I'd swallow my pride and let the Busa do the talking (er... running). If some yahoo wanted to go Easy Rider on me he'd have to catch me first. And that WAS NOT going to happen. But after it turned into a night riding adventure and my incident in NM, I started to second-guess my decision slightly.

Not saying what I'm doing this year, but BF will be riding with me. That should give you a clue.

Oh, and I wouldn't leave a gun under your seat. The first time someone sees you place that small package in there before going in a bar will be the last time you see it.

I can se both points of view on this topic, and respect the idea behind it...personally unless I was heading through a high crime area I'd probably leave the piece at home or just drive my car and put it somewhere easily accessible whie driving.

If somebody wants my bike that bad they're gonna have to catch me first!

                          Was thinking the samething.

I never got why ordinary people need to carry weapons in public places?
They either have very bad intention, or they lack self confidence and they want to be viewed as cowboys.

Or, maybe they have small penises....

Keep your concealed weapons away from me peeps. The last thing I want is for some "hero" to try to save the day and take me out with a stray bullet.

Unless you are a LEO, leave the handguns at home where they belong. If you are going somewhere that is that dangerous, you shouldn't be taking your bike there anyhow because its gonna get stolen or f'd up.

Grow a pair and let all the concealled weapon totin' punks darwinize each other.

Compensation- the driving force behind big motorcycles, Corvettes and hand guns.

Not something I ever felt a need to do- guess I should ride a Honda 50cc and a Mini Cooper...
