    Are biker cops too cool?

    I don't know about you all but it doesn't seem like cops on bikes are too nice. Never too willing to say hi, have you noticed that? In the name of brotherhood, I do my best to wave and say howdy to all bikers I pass, but seems like the po-po bikers never want to return the hellos. You all notice this, or am the only loser saying wassupers to em>?

        I think its safe that way, no need to draw any more attention to ourselves anymore than we already do being on 2 wheels. If they wave at me, I'll certainly return the courteous gesture, but usually I just mind my own business when passing by a cop. Cops in general arent too friendly around here in cars, SUV's, bikes, beat walkers, or motorcycles.

          i was riding alone one afternoon when 15+ biker cops came riding the other way. of those 15+, only 2 waved.

              almost... my brother is actually a biker cop ... I asked him if he wave at other bikes, and his reply was "only if I want them to pull over! "
              By the way; I find this wave-thing so cool. As I have said before I am very new to the bike-world and I must admit that the first 5 times someone waved at me, I felt a little funny waving back - but now I am already the one to raise my hand first

                  I made the mistake of waving at some of the local biker cops. My roommate yelled at me at the next light. Apparantly in PA they like to pull you over for waving sometimes?

                  Sheesh.... It's not like that dude in the video said at all...

                    I've run into good ones....and i've run into the usual ones. I rode for about 12 miles down I-70 one day side-by-side with a cop and he pulled over and talked when I stopped and we had a conversation about bikes. He was pretty cool, but since they're only basic job is to write tickets I don't have much respect for them as a group.

                    I still wave when I see them.

                        I've only had one encounter with bike cops and they did not wave back. Not quite sure what the issue is. My guess is they want to maintain a professional detachment from other users of the road.

                          Dude if you saw 15+ motorcyle cops in one place I'm betting
                          a. Bush was in town (I saw that many at DPS headquarters when he was here) and they had big tme game faces on..

                          b. it was a police funeral..
