  • waiting... waiting... more waiting...

I really have to vent over this.

So, after hearing the Two Bros. exhaust sound on the forum, i realized it was time for my first upgrade. So, hopped on to eBay and ordered the carbon fiber C2 slip on for my baby... Turns out the company, after receiving my eBay purchase waits to receive my 'order' from ebay, then orders it from Two Bros., and then ships it to me once they have it.

Its a week and a half later, and they are still waiting for it from Two Bros.... How frustrating is that? You think you are buying a product from eBay, but you're actually buying a service... or else, i would have the freakin' exhaust by now! And... after they receive it, I still have to wait for shipping from Cali to my buddy's cottage in northern NY... I'm sure that'll add on at least a week!.... talk about a business with no overhead, even my empty pockets could pay up for the eBay post!!

Their staff is nice enough on the phone, and one individual even offered to take a CF C2 muffler from a different package and 'put together' a kit... but, the TwoBros. requires a little modding of where the muffler attaches to the frame under the seat. So, I politely declined assuming that it would be likely he doesn't know that and wouldn't include ALL the right parts!

Combined with spring fever, exacorbated by studying for exams, tempted with days of great weather, and pushed over the edge by hearing millions of other aftermarket exhausts... I WANT MY EXHAUST... NOW!!

Anyone else got rediculous stories of mail or internet order parts? Or, has anyone had experience with Starcycle, or their eBay user alias worldwide_motorcycle_equipment ?

there's a few guys here that have been delayed by companies like that, it happens.

Do you know how it's being shipped up here? I hope it's via USPS and not UPS or Fedex fpr your sake.

On a side note, it's only an exhaust, at least you can still ride with out it if need be .

That is why I avoid ebay for certain things. A lot of the "store" are just front for people who contact the manufacturer and have it dropped shipped form there. I try to go to bigger places that have the item in stock. BTW why did you go on Ebay? Couldn't you just order the exhaust from Two Brothers?

Imagine my suprise whan I opened up my long awaited V&H exhaust for mine and find a sytsem for a cruiser instead.............

It happens. You were not buying from EBay, you were buying from a company that listed on EBay. If you were concerned about receiving time you should have contacted them before buying to find out details.

everything said is true, regardless, I feel the same frustration of a hungry fat kid whose face is glued to the window of a closed candy store!!

as for ordering from eBay, or rather from an electronic store on eBay, from my involvement with electronics, its easier dealing with a store if there are immediate problems, in comparison to dealing with the manufacturer... didn't put alot of thought really, just browsed some online prices and chose the most economical solution. Also, being in Canada, ordering from the US to a US address saves me some money. I'm not sure if TwoBros. would be willing to have different billing/shipping locations.

The store has got mostly positive feedback, but what can i say... cheaper prices usually infer other cut-corners. They said shipping will be about a week once they get it. and, hey... how many Kat's get a CF slip on in comparison to all the supersports on the road.. i'm not surprised TwoBros. is taking their time shipping it to the store... i'm sure there's a significantly lower supply/demand/factory stock

so long as i get it soon, i'll stay happy, and as woobie says... i can still ride! but i'm just anxious to get my new toy!

Really, I just needed to vent a little, and to publically be excited for my first upgrade!!! Being 23, full-time Uni student, with many more years of education to go, upgrades are going to be few and far between, and will likely involve economical mods, like grinding header welds and a make-at-home ignition advancer... So, to have something that is both esthetically pleasing and that will contribute somewhat to performance, i'm stoked for its arrival!

There's a whole supply chain upstream of them.

For example, I get dealer pricing from RonAyers and free shipping if the order goes over $300 or some such. And I use that to share the prices with my KR brothers (& sisters) when I put in a big order.
BUT I know and I'm up front about not controlling the delivery time-frame. RonAyers turns around and orders the majority of what I ask for from the Suzuki warehouse because most of what I want are specialty parts that no dealer normally stocks... And if that warehouse is out of a part, they order it from their vendor (which may mean Japan).
So let's see, in terms of time-lag:
Order into their system: Day 1
Order acknowledged, card charged: Day 2
Order sent upstream to Suzuki: Day 3
Throw in a weekend, so we're at Day 6
            Suzuki in-house paper work & pick-list generation: Day 7
Suzuki fills most of the order: Day 8
Transit time back to RonAyers: Days 9 - 11
Another damn weekend, so we're at day 13
RonAyers evaluates the order to see if it's complete: day 14
They wait (incomplete). Day 17, I check the status, find that everything but what I most desperately wanted is there. I send an email asking them to ship what is in.
Day 18: they respond to the email, upgrade the pick-list.
Day 19: the pick-list goes out to the floor to be filled, packaged up.
'nother weekend. Geesh. Day 21: item in transit.
Day 24 or 25: Order arrives my end. I repack what I can for those who are waiting for stuff from me... and email some to tell them their item X is still on back-order -- do they want a refund, or want to wait, or should I split their shipment and charge them more because now I'll be out double-shipping (and I've been offering stuff at my cost)?
Day 26: I ship what I've got complete. Hold, it -- is there another weekend?
Day 29-31: it arrives your end.

That's like a whole month right there. No sense in complaining about a 10 day wait if you knew up front that it was an order-to-fulfill situation. And that's if items weren't back-ordered from Suzuki's warehouses.

            Cheers,

Ive made it a habit that before I buy anything major off ebay, I ask the seller point blank..do you have this in stock and ready to go tomorrow or do u need to order it and have it shipped at a later date? I cant control how honest they are when I ask but usually what they tell me is pretty right on with the time that they say it will ship and when it arrives....usually.

hey i work for ups and ill have you know i am very carefull when i stand on packages especially yoshi boxs ; p

i feel the pain of waiting though i ordered a brake setup from someone and turned out hes just drop shipping the rotors from another company basically. the 'other' company didnt have what i wanted in stock and had to order from the factory, ordered wrong, then had to re-order... still waiting for them to ship.

i wish people would make it clear they dont actually have the stuff they are selling in hand.
