  • Posterboy Goes "Hog" Wild. (56k Beware)

I was at my in laws last night when my father-in-law said hey why don't you get your dads bike tomorrow and come ride with us. I was like I will see. So I called my dad up and he said yeah no problem. I having my forks chromed and rebuilt so my bike is down right now. So I go over and pick up his 1993 883 Harley Sportster. This thing has drag pipes on it. D&D pipes have nothing on this bike. Anyway I set out at 0730 today and met up with my father-in-law who is a member of the Southern Crusiers riding club. Great bunch of people and they really know how to set up a ride. Their website is www.southerncruisers.net They do alot of benefit rides for St Judes. Anywa we go and met up with everyone and get the details of where we are going. They take a 30 mile one way trip and turn it into a 80-90 mile one way trip to Erin, TN which is close to Clarksville, TN home of the 101st Screaming Eagle Airborne Divison. Ride went great all day nobody went down and we all came home safe. We rode from 0800 to 1600(4pm for non military). Here are a few pics of everyone and you can see the rest at www.picturetrail.com/highsight2020 click on the album Ride with Southern Crusiers.
    My Ride for the Day.

This is the suit I got my dad. This thing is great. I was warm all day. I could have worn shorts under it and be just as warm. It is a First Gear Thermo 1 Piece suit that is also waterproof.

I met up with Andy(Lopeha) after the ride. He had a valve cover for me. Here is a pic of him today in front of his Office( Drives for Mag Trucking)

I had to ride. I did not want to ride the Wifes 250. I put my feet on the rear pegs most of the day. The bike sat almost like mine does. It was fun though. Sometimes it is good to just cruise. I found some good roads to kneedrag on today though. I tried to kneedrag but going to slow for that.

Well, we have an 82 Flh sitting in the barn we effecinately refer to as the fly couch. And your right, it is good to just cruise once in a while.

It isn't important what you where riding, It's that you where out riding that is important..

The Thermo suit is a GREAT winter item! I have a Thermo Bib and LOVE it!

You shoulda tried to see if you could take that Aprilia CapoNord for a ride. You woulda been very surpised with how well it handles!

Somehow that helmet just doesn't go with that bike .

Great pics though and looked like a great day for a ride be it a slow cruise or a highspeed run. Thanks for sharing the pics

I know right, I was just thinking that it looks like a midget bike with him standing beside it.

Looks like you had a blast, Jimmy!
Also looks like you put on quite a bit of weight when you're wearing that insulating suit

                  Cheers,

HEY! I recognize that semi and that guy standing infront of it!

I wouldn't mind adding a cruiser to my stable. Then I could do some real long hauls on 2 wheels!

And Jimmah, seeing you standing next to that Hardley, it looks like one of them little 500cc china bikes you see around here and there!

Umm nope I am still the same weight. That suit is a 2xl. It is even big on my dad. The large I got him was a little to small and I thought the XL would not give him enough room so I got the 2XL for him I am thinking I should have went with the XL. Anyway I will not be getting a cruiser anytime soon and if I do it will be one of the Yamaha Road Warriors. It has tons of power. I will always have my KAT. Our bikes can do anything a Cruiser can and get there much quicker

Umm when Canada gets a REAL Military Nope no cruiser anytime soon. I love speed to much. I have bikes in the past that could be called a small cruiser, 93 Nighthawk 750 and a 85 GS700E. I just do not care for them.

What do we need a military for? We're LOVERS...not fighters.
