  • Speed Channel?

NASCAR V-twin channel is what it should be called.2Wheel Tuesday with Greg White just got over, only a half an hour slot,he didnt even have enough time to review the weekend of racing. Im just suffered through Vtwin TV and now American Thunder is on.Why does this channel worship out dated farm equipment? Michelle Smith is hot and all but riding one of the machines she airs is like riding a two by four with two oneven rocks as wheels.....Is it just me or is motorcycle coverage on TV for people who dont ride and just look?

u are right. Sport bikes, stunts, motocross, rally racing..... have no coverage. 2Wheel Tuesday is way too short and overloaded with commercials

Here, here! Way too much Nascar. Not enough rally. Thank God for DVR so I can tape F1 races.

At least they have shows about motorcycles. I do have to admit, with a TIVO, it get to watch a lot of motorcycle racing because of Speed. (Supercross, Motocross, SBK, Two Wheel Tuesday, etc.) If it weren't for speed, we wouldn't even have this. So at least it's a start.

But I do have to admit, the world today is way to into the show of motorcycling and not about the actual ride. I wish there would be a show that followed riders (not bikers) around the greatest roads of america and the feeling and sensation they get from riding these roads. Idea?

I swear you would think that with all diversity in motorsports that they would be able to show more than just like 5 or 6 shows repeated all day every day and they play WAY too much Nascar. I once was seeing what was on later in the day and wound up having to flip through like 12 hours of nothing but Nascar based shows. To me thats utterly rediculous, I mean I know it's popular and I like watching it from time to time but thats a little excessive.

therefore, the following equation is true.

Corbins "Ride on" is OK sometimes, but still way slanted toward the hardley crowd.

You would think the manufacturers would use the channel as an opportunity to sell beyond the normal commercials. A race bike build up or sportbike "how to" would likely spawn a lot of sales of bikes and aftermarket parts.

Might be petty, but I can't stand the 20 decibel jump in volume when a commercial comes on.

That would work until about the 2nd or 3rd episode.

By then the weekend warriors and squids would be totally ruining the 1st shows "great road" with thier highspeed antics(sportbikes) and thier loud exhausts (Harley's) pissing off the locals , add a few get offs and injuries/deaths Resulting in a police crack down in the area. A deluge of Hate mail from concerned residents complaining about the show and those "damn" bikers flooding the area because of thier road report.

The sad part is, although I wrote this with as a joke, I could see this happening.

Luckily we have the Net, and although many prefer to keep favorites semi hush hush, meeting up with other riders off the net for rides is a great way to learn the hidden gems in most areas.

I'm kinda glad that speed is all nascar. If it wasn't, and they ran more bike related programming, and specially some more WRC coverage i'd be pissed. Only because i'm never home anymore to watch tv at regular hours, and would just miss more great shows. . As it stands now, I don't get pissed, cause I know I'm not missing much.

Although it is not my bike of choice, I still appreciate anything on TV that is about 2 wheels. Yes OCC is a bunch of dorks...but there is bikes, its unfortunate that it has to be that way but what else is there? Remember what it was like 10 years ago?
