  • How much longer will the Katana be around?

People i know this is kinda like taboo, but how much longer do you really see this bike in Suzuki line up? I really love this bike for all that it offers and would love to see them maybee make some upgrades to the bike like fuel injection! What would you like to see them do to this bike?

Don't know how much longer Suzuki is going to make them but I can tell you that mine will be around for a long time

Yeah , even after they're discontinued , they'll still be around . Look at all the OTHER bikes on the road that aren't in production anymore . I plan on keeping MINE for a while longer , but with a bigger engine one day .

The kat has been around for a long time becuase of its quality, bullet proof, engineering.. it may never be the most technologically advanced bike ever, but she's a steady seller and very popular in the resale market.

Rumors come out every year as to whether it will be discontinued..but no matter what, KR will still be around and as Jim said, I'll still have my kat too

I say the Kat will be around as long as it continues to sell right up until it no longer meets changing emmissions guidelines.

I say they revamp it after the BUSA gets a facelift. Plus they have to keep the Ninja 650r from taking some sales. I think they will be simliar choices for people.

I agree it aint going nowhere it covers everything to well, comfort of a touring bike and the look and almost capablity of a rocket.

I would like to see the nose and sheild be a little more sleek and a cooling system and a aluminum frame would be kinda neat.

Well, Suzuki discontinued the Bandit 1200s to basically force feed us the SV1000s.
I see the Katana nameplate being around for quite awhile. What drivetrain it will have is the real question.

                    Keep them coming! More replies!

Yes it would be awsome to have a aluminum frame, fuel injection and possible face lift. I still like the way my bike looks but were talking about the future here people.

At one point in thelate 90's,I was at the Javits Convention center in NYC for theIMS and they had the new 1998 Katanas at the Suzuki booth, well the guy at the Suzuki booth stated this will be the last year of Katana production. Go figure.......Maybe if they build the Stratosphere the'll add it to the Katana line..

I don't have a clue. Currently, Suzuki's site doesn't list any scooters under 400cc's, but that doesn't mean they don't offer them (maybe through a different dealer channel than the motorcycles?)...

                              Cheers,
