  • Hi there, just registered today...and just test drove...

My first Katana 750. It was a slightly used 05, dark blue. It has 457 miles on it. It also has a 4 year extended factory warranty from Suzuki.

The price is 5799. Is that a good value?
    Thanks

I paid $7000 for my 2005 Kat 750 with 0 miles on it, so you're getting a pretty good deal.

That's a good deal. However, since it's slightly used you may want to check out Cyberpoet's buyers's guide checklist.

I believe it's a damn good deal, and with the extended warranty that was included. Congrats on the purchase.

As long as it wasn't a case of rode it, wrecked it, insurance rebuilt it, and it's ready to ride again, it's a great price, especially with the 4-year Suzuki extended warrantee. You'll want to look closely at the frame and steering head for signs that the powdercoat might be damaged -- the signs that it has been in a wreck and was rebuilt (in which case, it's not worth that much IMHO) -- the powdercoating should look even and unblemished everywhere. It's one of the biggies on my checklist (the one Kat-A-Tonic was good enough to post for you -- thanks Kat-A-Tonic!).

Also: Try to get the dealer to throw in the 600 mile service in the sales price, because the bike is close enough to it to warrant it (and it's normally about a $310 - $320 service if done right/fully).

                  Cheers,

Absolutely +1 . Just because its a famous brand name helmet doesnt mean its any better or any worse than a different lid that can be had for less money. Definately check out the gearing up forum here on KR. There are alot of opinions, reviews, and links to great lids that can be had. I'd also recommend you read if you have not already the Helmet review that Motorcyclist did several months back on helmets. It's the most comprehensive breakdown of helmets and testing Ive ever seen.

Congrats on the new Kat !! 8)
