Okay, OCC is Orange County Choppers, but that is Orange County New York. Mikey, he has no role. He is the comedy relief. The show was originally a serious documentary showing how these builders get the inspiration to build their bikes, then it evolved. That's when Mikey came along. He is the goofball act to the show. It is better with him.

But, IMO, the show has been pretty stale this year.

Mikey and Vinnie did build their own chopper though. Mikey always does alot of office work and occasionally helps out on bikes in a pinch, but he definately the odd ball of the family

        MIKEY ROCKS!

Seriously though, I think Paul Jr. is running out of ideas is it just me or do they keep re-running OLD Episodes a lot more? I use to watch it for the bikes they build, now I just watch it to see what mikey will do to piss off his old man.

Mikey is what has kept me watching. The Discovery channel bombarded us with chopper buildoffs. There isn't anything new. I use to love them.

          Now I love Mikey! hmmm

It was because of Mikey they are doing the show. He meet the producer at a local bar one night. The producer said he was looking for bike builders and Mikey told them about OCC. So Mikey does not need to do anything. He did enough by hooking his Dad up.

sorry...i can't answer that question. when i am flipping through the channels and run across that show, about 5 minutes of it is all i can take. just more commercial crap that leads to t-shirt and baseball cap sales.
which is probably why you don't see many new shows. these guys are already laughing all the way to the bank just by the moron "wannabe's" who buy all the crap they endorse.

If you watch it for just the pure talent and creativity that goes into building the bikes..u'll be amazed..if u watch it expecting anything other than that..u'll change the channel.

                      Ditto: MICKEY ROCKS!!
I watch the show as often as possible and it really sux when Mickey isn't on there. We all know that Vinnie is the electrical wizzard and Paully is a good welder and most of their stuff is bought, like the engines, frames and frontends. The rest happens to just come together in the long run. LOL

                        Why?

I used to watch it 'til about the forth episode.

Honestly, who'd work in an enviroment like that.
I used to think Mikey was the intelligent one, but would any one with any self esteem subject themselves to that kinda of Psychological abuse.
I thought even Vinnie was smarter than that.

It's amazing. Wave a little green in someone's face and they'll lick their own arses.

                        Now American Hot Rod...
                        ...thats totally different (Not!)

Actually, the premise for both of those shows is excellent

its a family business, that's just how they are in real life, so they act no different on TV..its that AND the bikes that keeps the show going.

The way I see it, Paul Jr. has the overall fabrication skills to get a bike produced from their shop. Paul Sr. doesn't have the skills anymore, or not at the level of Junior's. Junior takes a a lot of heat from his father. Mikey gets a free pass, usually, because he is the baby of the family. Junior is well paid for his skill, as he should be. He drives great cars, like that Plymouth Prowler, while Mikey drives junky cars and lives in his dad's old bungelow.

Mikey is popular with the TV audience, and for that he is valuable as well.

I like the show because it is a good window into how family businesses sometimes operate. They can often have their own pecular demands and stresses.

My opinion of the family was severely challenged when I saw how crudely they behaved on their family trip to Britain, Ireland, and France (recently aired shows). The way they treated those vintage British motorcycles at that museum made me ashamed to be a fellow American.
