  • Small sized gear..

After reading Ron's scary post I realized I need to get
    Carlo a jacket. He's 8 though.
Lady's XXS is still too big.
He has a good Arai, that fits right.
And wears long pants and lace up shoes.
(In fact he wants black service boots, no squid is he)
So, I'm going to buy him the best leather I can find.
I'm also going to get him a pair of gloves.
I think the jacket may end up being the "biker" type.
But as long as it's not shite that's fine.

    Now:
When he out grows the jacket (in a year or so)
I'll pass it on for free.
When he out grows the Lid, same deal.
In fact same deal with all the gear..
Any parents out there with kid sized gear?
Any folks out there with gear that might fit kids?
    Lets pass it around..

We all know how expensive gear can be..
But we also know how long it can last.
Who knows how many kids can wear a leather riding jacket?
5- 10?? It would be cool to find out , no?

He must be a little skinny guy lol

    My 9yr old wears

JR ballistic pants Mens Size S (ladies Sm was to small)
JR Phoenix Jacket Mens size XXS
JR highside gloves on close out at bike show

I got both on ebay and saved a ton of $$$. I don't know about down there but up here the jacket was $150 and the pants close to $200. I got the jacket NWT for $90 and the pants(used) cost me $61 Cdn .

I figure once he outgrows it I can easily sell cheap it since I didn't pay retail to begin with.

    EDIT

There was a guy on Ebay out of the UK selling childrens size motorcycle leather jackets and pants.

Go to http://www.bmwmotorcycles.com/splash_r1200gs.jsp and click on the motorcycle link. BMW makes a suit that is adjustable for children. You can adjust it out as they grow.

        that's nice..

$250 for the jacket and $150 for the pants...
I'm gonna book mark that in case I can't get leather.
        Thanks High

No problem. I have had a hard time finding anything to fit my daughter. She is built like a toothpick. She is about 4 foot tall and weighs about 45lbs soaking wet. I think for me that BMW suit is going to be the best route for her.

                I just heard from Bikerkids.com:

the US. Shipping costs are based on the weight of the items. If you
would like us to give you a quote just tell us which items (with sizes)
you are interested in. We will be happy to help with sizing just let us
have the relevant measurements for the items you are interested in.
Hope this helps. Regards Chris From : Biker Kids - Motorcycle clothing and accessories for the next
                generation of Bikers!

I'm going to measure the boy and get a quote.
For now I think gloves and jacket..
The nice race style jacket (which zips up to their pants) with armor in the sholders elbows and back.. is 59 GBP.. that equals 104 USD

The gloves are 12.5 GBP that is 22 USD..
Not too bad considering it has a kevlar palm.

Have you seen the GiMoto Kid's Racing Suit? CE armour at elbows, shoulders and knees and sliders. Damn.

                  Pretty hardcore...

My son (5) and I also use the Child Riding Belt. I feel way more secure having him in the belt. He enjoys the ride more, too.

Intercoms are also a blast. My son stays engaged on far longer rides if he can chat with me as we ride.

My son likes to squeeze on to the driver seat with me.
Makes it a bit tight on the "boys" but he feels safer.
Having him strapped to me would make me nervous..
Intercoms rock! Anyone who has kids should get them..

I'll check out that link, thanks..
                    edit: $500!! holy crap..

                    Oh and hard core?!?!?!
                    This girl is 6..
