i have been riding for about 7 months and i decided its probably time to go get my endorsement. i passed the written test and my ride test is next wed, i was just wondering what i should be prepaded for. on the paper they gave me it said no speeds over 15 mph? im not too worried about it cuz im a pretty good rider but i was just wondering what it is like

If it's anything like the MSF course, you'll need to show that you are capable of performing:

    - Basics: throttle/clutch control, braking, gradual curves
    - Emergency braking (within x many feet, depending on your speed)
    - Emergency swerving
    - Tight turning (left and right around cones of varying distance)
    - And the dreaded figure-8 and the circle (slow tight turns)

If you are just going to your local DMV to take the test..beware, they are generally more picky than MSF in terms of being exact on the FIRST time.

and w/ the emergency braking it generally includes locking up the rear wheel and riding it to a stop w/out putting your feet down.

You can find your test on pages 69 to 71 (74 to 76 in the PDF version) of this document:

Also, try to find your DMVs website. They might have an online PDF that explains the test.
Very odd.. I knew a few people that recently took the course and that was a requirement.. hhmm.

Yah I know when I took the msf, locking up your rear tire wasnt encouraged but I cant remember if it counted against u or not...Im pretty sure it did though cuz they reinforced the method of shifting down and coming to a smooth quick stop without leaving skidmarks lol, and locking the rear isnt really a smooth stop. But maybe different instructors have different methods

The license test isn't too bad in Ohio, i never took the MSF for comparison though.

              I had to do:

              - couple "tight turns" (easy)
              - stop w/ front tire in box (easy)
              - cone weave (somewhat difficult)
              - emergency braking from 15mph (easy)
              - emergency swerve to right or left (easy)
              - u-turn (somewhat difficult)

I passed on the first try, however I saw MANY people fail. I'd go watch some people take it before you have to, and do alot of parking lot practicing. When I took mine I had only had my Kat for two weeks, its really just basic stuff you should know how to do.

Wow , our was a JOKE . There was a slalom course , that I EASILY made it through on a full-dress cruiser , accelerate three gears in a straight line , turn around , repeat and decell down three gears . I didn't hear the downshift part , and just stopmed on my brakes . Locked up the rear tire and skidded to a stop right next to the cop . He says "I wanted you to downshift to a stop" . I said "I'll do it again if you want" . He says , nope , you're fine , take this paper upstairs and get your picture taken " . A joke , really .

Mine was pretty cake too. Do a cone weave, u-turn around, come back thru straight as slow as possible. Accelerate through three gears, hit 15 or 20 mph, and stop as fast as you can. Lock up the brakes, they didn't care. Took all of a few minutes maybe. I'm pretty sure here, as long as you can ride somewhat decent, you'll get your license.

                  GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Here in the land of CHEESE they follow you around town. They give you a headset to wear, and you listen to the commands. THey have you do different things, and then go back to the DMV office and let you know weather you passed or failed. Unless you are really bad, then in the middle of it, they just have you turn around and go back with out finishing.
