  • "Turn Signal/Kickstand Relay"

    Working on my 2006 GSX750F.
    It's really coming along now. I got it to the point that it's almost ready for my first ride. I am working on the kickstand switch.

    I got the book out to find the wiring diagram. I found where I need to look.

    The problem is I don't know where to look for the "Turn Signal/Kickstand Relay" on the bike.

    I've been looking on the left side where I found the cut wires to the kickstand but no luck.

    Could someone help me with it?

    Well I solved it. It was very simple. The PO had cut the two wires where the wires from the kickstand go in to a connector. I twisted the wires at the connector together and it worked. I will put it back the way it is supposed to be. I like the kickstand cut out to work.

    Now that is done, still no ride for me. When I let the clutch out fully, it barely moved. Looks like a oil change and new clutch plates for the old girl. I was going to change the oil and filter anyway. I am looking on eBay and Amazon to get the best deal for everything along with a new clutch cover gasket.

    I also figured out why the emergency flashers were on. There is a separate switch to turn it on. It's located on the right handle bar. My nephew just reaches over and switch it off. I didn't say a word but I was saying some things to myself though.
    I have to say I feel much better now.
    Soon... yes very soon, it will be alive.

      There's a wiring diagram on the Wiki - If not, download the manual and look there.

      Sorry I can't help more, I have an '89 1100...

        I did figure it out. It was very easy but had me stumped for a day.

        Like your bike. I was looking at a 1988 GSX1100 before I bought the GSX750F. I didn't get it because it was over 450 miles one way. It's still for sale and I am still thinking about getting it. Just want to get what I have sorta out first.

          Thanks. Mine's an '89. It was my first 'big bike'. I bought it initially about 19 years ago from a guy at work...had it for a while, sold it to my neighbor who had it for 10 years. I moved...he looked me up and asked me if I wanted to buy it back. He hated to get rid of it but doctor's orders...He was blacking out at work!

          It's funny because I just started looking for another one and he called me out of the blue...funny how that works! I have it apart at the moment. I'm converting the wheels from 16s to 17s and will be giving it a light restoration where needed - than probably paint although the body is in pretty good shape.

          The 1988 model is a one-off. Not a bad bike, it's suspension and front end angle are different than all others...so keep that in mind. There are few other minor things different as well on the 88s.

            I've been thinking about what you said about the"88 model.
            He is asking $1300 for it but would probably take less for it because he has had it for sale for over two months. Plus he lives in the boonies.
            I am going to pass on it right now as I'm having a lot of problems with my 2006 gsx750f.
