  • hello from central florida

hey im matt I own a 06 750 katana last week my front brakes started leaking from the T fitting so I got some lines and master cylinder rebuild kits

and well when de faring the bike just decided to keep going with a buddy and swap a bandit 1200 engine in got that in and bandit harness plugged in

and well I was wondering I plan on swapping the forks out for the bandit ones way better calipers for that one

I would like to fit the bandit swing arm on if possible or some form of adapters to make it work bandit had a 180 in the rear and im currently maxed with a 160 in the rear

the doner bike I had was 2002 bandit 1200 that we cut apart to make a rail buggy out of but got lazy on and never finished

Welcome. Swingarm won't fit without a lot of work. Easier to cut, bend, then dealer the original if you want to fit a 180. Bandit front end have been grafted on before, you should be able to find a write up.

      thanks
figured as much may just leave that swing arm for the time being then

fork swap didn't look to terribly difficult gonna dive into that

I need take this thing to a machine shop to get 2 exhaust bolts on 1 cylinder removed that snapped off in the head

other than figuring out the rear sproket offset it fires up and runs pretty good gonna rerebuild the carbs for a stage 2 kit before final installation

        Welcome aboard
Stage 2?? Factory pro jet kit would be my choice and don't go with high flow air filters, it won't run right. (It's not a jetting issue either)

any reason why just curious I want to delete the airbox and get a bit more power out of it

it seemed to run pretty lean before i chopped that bike

running on stock headers and a yoshi pipe

The filter Change won't yield anything. CV carbs and a detuned motor can't handle them. The engine is designed off the GIXXER motor but, it's not a GIXXER motor. A GIXXER motor can handle them better.

Ill do the factory pro jetting kit then all this happend pretty quick I don't really know the finer detail about this engine or swap
I just pulled some fairings like 2 days ago to do some brake lines and now there a bandit motor where a 750 used to be with very little effort

A bandit motor may be able to handle them, not sure on that. You'll need to research that.

                  *weld not 'dealer'. Autocorrect....

Bandit engines do much better with high flow filters than kat engines do from what I hear, but it might still be worth checking out some bandit forums for that. Also, holeshot sells what is supposed to be a really good jetkit for the b12 motor. Adding their jetkit and exhaust adds a very decent amount of HP/torque. (And then you can add the gsxr cams and a 5* timing advance...and port the head...they have dyno charts. Holeshot.com, left hand side up near the top. Go nuts, you're welcome)
