  • Ebay Radiant Cycles moto gp pipe

So I bought the 50 dollar shorty 'moto gp' style exahust from ebay, the one with a little baffle and thats it. So I'm wondering about backpressure. right now my bike has a yoshimura pipe on it, and it has indeed been rejetted rich. Its actually really rich as my mileage is only about 32 and not around 40-44 which is what stock is. So I am assuming that when the shorter exhaust leans the bike out, I will be fine due to its rejetting. If it leans out from 32 mpg to like 37-38 that should still be good.
Buuut I am not an expert, so I want some input from others. I know its ging to be really loud, but Im gonna have the yoshi so If I dont like it i can just put the yoshi back on.
So with the rejetting is backpressure going to be an issue or no?

Depends on the can.. If it's a wide open can then yes. If it's baffled what size is the baffle pipe? Smaller or larger than the stock baffle. YOU TOOK A YOSHI OFF FOR A CHEAP CAN, it's gonna be freakin loud...FYI: those cans are marketed as GP for ignorant bike owners, you will never see that style can on a GP bike. Always a full pipe..

Yes I know its just a tip with a tiny baffle and not a proper exhaust. I mainly bought it just to see what it sounds like. I havent taken the yoshi off yet. However the yoshi is pretty loud to begin with so I am guessing that the yoshi has minimal baffles.
All I know is that the ebay pipe has one small baffle in it.
How do I tell if backpressure and jetting is an issue, and how do I tell if I am all good to run the 'gp' pipe once I switch it onto the bike?

Any issues with backpressure and if its damaging the bike, Pretty much will be obvious. If it runs like shit its not good.
Alright. If it runs fine and there arent any cuts in performance then its alright I guess

You'll loose torque with less back pressure.

But will it actually cause damage to the engine?

Why not repack the Yoshi ones? I've got 2 on my 1100 and they are loud as hell...they need to be repacked.

I want to sort of clean up the right side of the bike and have a shorty to begin with. The yoshi sounds good, its not too loud. I cant eait to see how loud this radiant pipe is. If its too loud Ill just put the yoshi and midpipe back on

If left in a lean condition, it could burn the valves.

But if my current rich jetting is fine, like if it leans out but it's still rich die to the jetting, I could be just fine ? All depends on how it runs after I put it on correct

So I put it on. I don't really notice any difference in performance. Am I good? I mean it is loud but i t doesn't feel like it's damaging

Your good to go, if you like that obnoxiously loud exhaust.... Watch for popping on decel and flat spots in the rpm range. None, ride.

There is some pops on decel , but Im confused becuase they were there with the yoshi pipe as well. I havent really opened it up with the new shorty pipe but I wanna say that it popped a bit more with the yoshi but I cant tell for sure.
