i've been riding for 1 year and just bought a 600 Kat last month. enjoying the bike a lot but don't know much about it maintenance-wise. hope to find some good insights in this forum. And if any of you guys ride in groups, I'd be open for riding with ya'll here in Central NJ

    Welcome aboard!
Maintenance on kats isn't too bad. They require less than many bikes, and are pretty easy to work on.
If you're new to wrenching, there's a lot of simple easy things (ie oil and filter change, spark plugs, air filter, lubing cables etc) you can do to gain confidence before tackling more complicated things (valve adjustment, rebuilding forks/carbs/brakes etc)
