  • Greetings from Olympia

    Hi All.

I've been using this forum as a reference for quite some time and finally decided I should join up.

I've been riding for about 15 years, and wrenching on bikes for about the last 7. In 2012 I picked up my first katana and have made it a pretty mean streetfighter if i do say so myself

Anyway - you all seem like a pretty welcoming group and I look forward to being a part of it.

That's your pilot circuit most likely. And yes... they are a pain in the ass. Well i dunno. no more than any other carbs i've worked on. Just in general the amount of time that goes into 4 carb troubleshooting is annoying when you are ready to get down and ride.

I love this bike. I do. But I believe I'm going fuel injection from here out. Time for a modern bike in the near future.

Not that DFI bikes dont have their own complications... But in terms or reliability - cant really beat it.

my two best friends are glad that I finally got a motorcycle but they still make fun of me for having an old bike lol they ride a ninja 300 and a GSXR 1000 even though they give me a hard time they're just happy that as soon as I get it running will be able to ride together .

its like I see a lot of people on here say two wheels are better than no wheels

Nah....I like the old carbed bikes. When your FI fails you'll know why......roadside fix, not a tow truck.

Both very solid points. I keep trying to find the "right" answer. I think maybe that's not a conversation of FI vs Carb... But just a having 2. So when you have to wrench for two weeks on one... You're not down for the count.

And yeah... Oly beer isn't what it used to be after it was sold and produced elsewhere.
