  • Fuel gauge?

Hello i just got done putting in a new fuel float second new one on my 2003 GSX600F. The gauge is read a little less than half but clearly theres more than that in the tank. Is this a common thing with this bike it was given to me needed work. Proud to say i got her all done in 3wks starts runs n rides great.

    Welcome to KR

How much different is the gage? Like do you have a full tank and it shows less than half, or do you have slightly more than half and it shows less than 1/2?

Katana fuel gages are known to be off, it is better and more accurate to go by mileage and use the gauge as just a rough estimate. I reset my trip meter after refueling and find that around 160-165 miles I need to switch to reserve and have enough fuel to make it at least another 30- 40 miles or more. I have yet to run out and be stranded with this method.

Katana fuel gauge shows you F-E for only the top half of the tank. At E, you will have half a tank left and need to switch to reserve to utilize it.

        Reserve is almost 2 gallons.

Welcome to KatRiders. Yeah, the petrol gauge is almost useless.

I have to agree, I rarely go by my gas gauge anymore..

Interesting. I never had a problem with my gages on the Kat.

All the bikes I have ever owned that had fuel gauges weren't very accurate at all, just gives you some guidance on when to start thinking about stopping for gas!
