  • Looking at picking up a 1992 gsx600f

I tend to be a forum junkie and I'm hoping to pick up a 600 katana for trade on a couple of firearms and a custom built guitar that I made. Hopefully I can pick that up in the next day or so. I don't know if I'll get a chance to ride it as I'm up in South Dakota but I've been without a bike for a full year and am looking forward to getting back on one. The last bike was a 1985 CB700SC and before that was an 85 shadow vt500.

This one will be a bit more forward lean then I'm use to!

The forward lean isn't bad, much less than a SS bike. Cool you're getting the bike without forking over cash, but depending on the guns you might be overpaying. ~1500 value give or take depending on mileage/condition.

the guns cost between 250-300 each. Nothing fancy. I probably have around 300 into materials on the guitar. So I think I'm doing ok

If you are interested in a custom built guitar, I could probably make something nice. I have some sweet pieces of flame maple and flame hickory laying around. Also have a neck blank laminated from walnut and maple that has a nice bell like tap tone.

This one is a baritone explorer with a 28" scale. I have it tuned to A. kind of fun to play but I just haven't bonded with it like my other guitars.

So your looking at give or take $900. Depending on condition, as that is usually a mistery. Good paint, complete and it runs well, not too bad. If it's been sitting for any length of time it's going to cost some to get it road worthy, which can add up quickly if done correctly. Keep that in mind, doesn't run= 1 less gun

            ha, nice.

According to the seller, it has been serviced recently and runs well. We shall see!

Of course, that is not figuring any sort of hourly rate for my labor in building the guitar. I'm sure I have quite a few hours into that build. Next time around I'll have my CNC router table up and running and can maybe shave a good bit of time off of some of the more mundane carving tasks.

I was quite a Metallica fan back in the day. I'm a bit more mellow now. My avatar pic is guitar build #2

If you want to talk guitars with someone on here, Zuma is your man. Not my style, but looks like a really nice build!

                          I've got a 92, I won't trade for a guitar; but I'd take a minimoog model D.

...would be a bad trade for you ( but you could keep your guns!)

Seller appears to have flaked out on me. Haven't heard from him in a while.

But I might have a line on an 01 GSF600S for $1250. Gotta make a 6 hour round trip to get it though. Sounds like it is in good shape with a few minor scrapes.
