Hi from Texas, I just rescued a Kat that has been in the Kat pound (someones back yard) under pieces of tarp for the past 10 years and I couldn't resist asking them if they wanted to sell it. I've worked on old honda's but never suzuki's. I kind of hesitated to get it when I found out it had cv carbs but I figured, what the hey, plenty of people on this forum that are making them work. So heres a pic of the kat still in their back yard. The owner said the only reason he parked it was he thought the cam chain was bad, so I guess the best place to start would be just to see if it needs adjustment. The bike has about 24,000 miles on it. In the process of time he misplaced the title and I'm going through the bonded title process and should have it this week. I can't get a locksmith to make a key for it until I have proof that I am the owner. (PO also lost the keys) I'm not sure how long cam chains last on these.
