Hey there everyone, I'm new to this forum, and I figured I'd give it a go. I just recently bought a 1988 katana 600. I intend to fix it and learn to ride. I was referred by a friend. Any help or input would be great, and more than appreciated. Thanks all.

Welcome. How about you post some pictures of the bike, list its current issues, and tell about you past mechanical experience. It looks to me like everyone here is more than willing to help but no one likes when people ask basic questions that have been covered 20 times. Check the kat wiki -

Welcome, dump the carbs and pickup a set from a 90-97. Better carbs. 88-89 are odd balls. If they still function well use them."I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you when I called you stupid. I thought you already knew..."
