Short cut - head towards the mountains along the peninsula - see a road going through them? It'll be good.
More specifically - 84, 92, 9, 17, 1, 35, old San Jose-soquel rd, page mill rd, 152, 156. Laurels grade, the road down to pinnacles national park south of Hollister, roads going into uvas canyon, road up to the observatory atop mt Hamilton.
Those are all mostly South Bay/peninsula roads. North of us there's 29 north of Calistoga, 20, 128, 162, 99 north of Sacramento.
East there's 120, 108, 49, 4, 88, and 50.
I'm sure there's tons of smaller roads too, I usually stick to ones I've driven before. And I'm sure I'm missing a lot. I'm not terribly familiar with the east bay, there's probably some nice riding in the hills around you that I Kay don't know about. The roads I mentioned - some are great for scenery and are twisty enough to not get boring, some might be pretty but are definitely great for more spirited riding. Look them over on google maps or something similar, you'll be able to tell which are which pretty easily.
There's also sears point raceway (~Sonoma) and Laguna Seca (~Watsonville) if you're feeling more track oriented. We're lucky here in CA - we've got lots of options and can ride year round. Enjoy it!1998 Katana 750
