  • Hello...again?

    First Post! Hello!

Just got back into riding after getting my '02 750 Kat.

Was nervous all week before my new purchase but as soon as I twisted the throttle, it all melted away.

Yeah....had not been on bike for 10 years, since I sold my 600 Kat. My second oldest thought he might want to ride and found a Chineese scooter for less than $400 on Craigslist. WOW! What a deal!

I test drove it, and was actually impressed. It handled well, had a body style similar to my 98 Kat, and seemed to run fine. With 2 other buyers pulling up with cash in hand, I went ahead and bought it.

            MISTAKE!

It died 2 times on the way home. Also, on the the way home, the rear tire deflated after hitting rail road tracks. It had a weird electrical problem that always drained the battery after 4 or 5 days. The wiring inside the front end was a joke...electrical tape around junctions with big ol solder blobs connecting 6 ground lines (no connector??!!@#@).

It also took 3 months to register the thing, even though it was bought NEW in the next county.

But it was a good "learning" experience. I taught my kid to ride, change a tire, replace master cylinders, oil. And sold it for about what it cost and get fixed.

            Still....yup....POS.
