  • 88 599cc new owner.

    i recently bought a 88 599cc suzuki katana.

i so far have replaced the plugs starter, starter relay and battery. as well as the oil and filter.

now im moving on to the carbs.

i have rebuilt many holly's before. and the small carb on my ts100.

im wondering if there is a master kit for the MIKUNI BST31ss

i see many postings of the 33,s and 36's.

i feel i might need to do more research.

hello. and thanks for having such a large site dedicated to this series of motorcycles.

Welcome! A user on here called Aresenic is the residential carb guru, if he sees your post and makes a recommendation, you'll want to listen - he knows his stuff. Good luck!

          update.

          i recently picked up a 90 599cc as well.
          its a california model.

          ordered new carbs from arsenic
next is a petcock, im unsure of the condition of mine but new is always +1
i also ordered new coils from ebay.
very excited to start working on this one instead and having the 88 for a bunch of extra parts

it snowed today! im so mad at michigan weather.

I'm working on your carbs throughout the day, and the week. He bought a set that isn't ready yet, but I have it in my possession. It's getting there. Yeah it snowed in Illinois last night, WTF?

Not trying to rain on the parade, but when you get to comparing parts... you may find that a good deal of them will not be the same between the 88 and the 90.

              Plastics are a go though.

Veering completely off topic... It was in the 70's all weekend, here in NJ. I rode Sunday and Monday... we're expecting 1"-3" of SNOW tonight. Really? So much for global warming...
