  • Rode Home in the snow today!

I left work early because I saw snow starting to come down. By the time I left we had about 1-2" on the road. I took a very slow 4 minute ride back to my home. No issues on the way home. Never got over 20mph and no sudden stops. I know it was risky and I was being kind of stupid but I made it home with no issue. BUT.......... walking around the car in my driveway I tapped the front brake while pushing with both hands in the grass and the front wheel slid out. I slowly put it down to my dislike, but nothing was damaged besides my pride and the knee I tried to stick between my bike and the ground.

Let's see if I have this right. You risked your life and your bike for a 4 minute ride home? Do I have that right? If I truly posted my thoughts, it might get me banned. I'll just leave it at that.
sigpicLife throws you curves......enjoy the ones you get when riding.

90% of motorcycle forum members do not have a service manual for their bike.

Reminds me of my trip over Donner Summit I-80 two weeks ago when I was driving my '06 GTO with summer tires and got caught in snow- I parked it.
When I got my C-14, with 800 miles on the odo, I hit snow and it was barely sticking. Once, getting on the freeway, the traction control kicked in. If it became a habit, I would have promptly camped out in a cheap motel.

I have a set of studded tires but I was fined $250 when a state trooper pulled me over. Cars can have them or chains from Nov-April. Now no shop will mount them because they can be fined as well.

Confused about the studded tire part..you have them? Or you have them on your bike? And are you saying your not supposed to have em on a bike?

And that's the same kinda luck I have, almost like driving 20+ miles on "E" in my car only to run out 100 feet from the gas station lol
