  • Stupid New Models Every Year!

It seems they start making new models for gear every year and you can't buy anything new from a couple years ago, even if all the reviews said it was great. I REALLY wish I could find another Fieldsheer Tour Temp jacket because I love it! I've looked online, but nobody seems to have any left. I bought it almost 2 years ago on closeout. I haven't found any like it, or at least not in a reasonable price range. Any suggestions?

So you bought something on closeout (which means EOL typically for that item) and you expected it to be around years later......LOL

Yeah I know all that and I didn't expect to be able to buy it again years later, but I just hate how companies discontinue successful products, just so you have to keep buying different products. I can't find anything with 1,000 denier outer shell any more, nevermind being waterproof, having phoslite, good armor, and a great removable winter liner. Quality and/or features seem to have gone downhill.

What is popular at one point in time is not typically popular in the future nor is the margin in those product to continue to make them.

By your arguement Ford would never change the F150 since it sells like hotcakes. That is a stupid argueent as consumer opinion changes constantly and you have to stay with your competition and update or die.

If the market is not there to make the product then they wont and I am guessing hte market wasnt there for that all in one piece.

Using the product lifecycle on trucks is a bad example, they tend to stay mostly the same with minor styling changes for 10+ years.

Manufactured goods is always a gamble, and a good product doesn't always sell that well
