So I want to check my floats and adjust in my 99 Kat. How do I set the height on them and what tools do I need?

There is a post where someone used a CD case and made a tool, I use a micrometer.
If you download the carbs 102 manual it explains how to do it."I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you when I called you stupid. I thought you already knew..."

There's quite a few ways to make your own. Like TRPUT says, an old credit card works just fine. Here's the actual tool

I've built a tool using an old AMA card. In addition to notching it at 13mm you also have to cut a larger notch in the middle to clear the center of the float assembly. No big deal but look for it so you won't be surprised.

They don't have to be completely upside down, what you are looking for is gravity to work with you. I tilt them until they just BARELY touch the little tit on the float valve. Then you measure from the metal where the bowl seats to, to the highest part of the float. That is the middle. Make sure the floats are seated in all the way before you set them.Must read for carb tuners......http://www.factorypro.com/tech/tech_...m_engines.html
