The reason im asking is because installed lowering linx on rear then went to drop front but upper triple tree has a lip that does not allow fork to protrude i am at a stand still i dont know what to do?!

What I would do... ( NOTE!!!!: The numbers used below are an example only! You should start with how much you lowered the bike, and replace with your OWN measurements and numbers based upon the formulas below!)

Take lowered rear measurement (lets say you went down 1.5")

          Multiply that X 1.12 (1.5" X 1.12 = 1.68")

Front needs to be moved by adjusting the front forks by 1.68" lower by shortening them, or by moving them up the triples.

Lift the front end (I would hang it from rafters by the front frame) Remove the forks.

Use a dremmel with a drum sander (start rough grit, move to fine for smooth surface) and remove the lip on the upper tripples. Confirm there is plenty of clearance by sliding a tube in and checking (will be painting the exposed aluminum afterwards and that adds back a small layer.)

Maximum I would move the forks in the triple is 3/4". I would prefer some room to adjust/tune by, so I would factor in .5" and leave the rest for fine tuning and adjusting.

That leaves me with 1.18" to shorten the forks by. (need 1.68", gonna move the forks .5" in the triple, so 1.68-.5=1.18")

Disassemble the forks. Remove the damping rod in the bottom. There is a small spring under the damping rod, inside the fork tube. Add an extra part in... a PVC or metal spacer cut to 1.18" length. This goes under the damping rod, between the small spring and the damping rod top.

Start to put the forks back together with this extra part in. When you get to the final assembly point of putting the cap on, you will notice the top spacer sticks way up. This is normal. You can cut that spacer, or replace with another spacer (I used the same PVC I made the lower spacer with). You basically are looking at cutting near to the 1.18" off of the top spacer. Specifically, but the top spacer to set the correct sag for the front end, so this measurement is a varialbe based upon your weight!!!. See threads on "adjusting sag for forks". You may now also want to consider or put some thought into the specific fork oil weight you use. Do not go by OEM recomendations (your forks are now modified)... pick what is going to best fit you and your weight/lowered height.

(you forks will now extend 1.18" less than before.

Put the forks into the triple, slide them up .5" as a starting point. You have lowered the front end now a total of 1.68". Ride the bike... if it feels very "sluggish" for stearing... you need to adjust the front down more. a couple of MM adjustment lower makes a big difference, so do small adjustments and recheck.

If it's seems overly "quick" in stearing... adjust the front higher.

Again, don't forget my measurement is based upon a "guess" on how much lower you went. Your numbers need to be based upon your actual measurment of lowering the rear.

The upper fork tubes are 41mm.

The lip your mentioned previously does not clamp on the fork tubes, the lower portion of the upper clamp does. The lower portion should not need modded.

It will make little functional difference if you slightly over size the top where the lip is.

Personally I would just take it down smoth with the rest of the part... you already know the tubes slide most of the way up in anyways.
