  • Rear brake too tight?

I was lubing my chain today for the first time (back was injured a few days after I got my kat last month) and noticed the "play" in the wheel was tighter than on my old Nighthawk. When spinning the wheel while the bike is on the center stand, should the rear brakes be stopping the wheel?
    Thanks.

Ugh, been looking through the Haynes Service & Repair manual and haven't found how to adjust the rear brake play, if it's even possible. Seems like the pads or rotor may be too thick? I had to replace the chain and rear brake pads/rotor at a shop a few weeks ago (went with stock parts) so I don't think it would have to do with chain tension, which I checked and looks fine.

When cold, my clutch has more drag becasue of the oil then my old nighthawk used to... just a thought.

Are you sure it is the brakes? try spinning it when it is hot and see if it spins easier...

It's a hydraulic system, there is no adjustment.

Having the rotor and pads barely kissing is normal.
90% of motorcycle forum members do not have a service manual for their bike.

you could take the caliber off to see if its the brake.
