So I was on my way to work , I let the bike warm up as I always do .I had just got off the interstate and came to the red light I noticed that my rpm Hung around 2500 before idling back down to 1500. Once I got to work I shut it off and refired it in neutral. The idle was at 1500 then I did a quick rev and it did the 2500 thing again and came back down to 1500 .. what could be causing this or what could it be ........99 katana gsx 600f

Sounds like you have an intake leak or just running too lean to begin with.

Came here to say this. I believe a good way to check for leaks is to spray starter fluid around the areas that could be leaking and see if the RPMs increase. If so, youve found your leak!

Mine would do that after sitting for a long period of time(week or two). Never done this before that day?

Seems to me you have some homework to do.
