Does anyone know if the main and idle speed jets can be removed without taking the carbs off the bike? Is there room to get a short screwdriver in there on a 2006 Kat 600?

to remove any jets from a carburator you usually have to remove the bowls on a lot of mikuni's there is a drain plug on the bottom that can get you to the main jet but i don't know on yours but i bet someone on here does idle you will have to remove the bowls most likely which is waaay easier to remove the carbs any reason why you dont want to?never argue with an idiot, they'll drag you down to there level and beat you with experience.

you will not get the carbs thoroughly clean without dipping them and the jests in carb cleaner.
If using a wire to scrub them (jets) clean works for you that's cool but I would not do it on my carbs no matter how easy and fast it is.

To the genius who started his post with "seriously", I am quite familiar with the carbs and since the bike has been sitting and will not idle but will run with the enrichener opened I would suspect that a plugged idle or pilot jet is the culprit. So , no, I don't want to pull them off if I can get to the float bowls and jets from below...............

All of the hard plastics will not be effected by the carb dip or cleaner. FYI. (floats, float rails, needle oring, spring seat, so on).

While JB's incredulous response may have touched a button with your feelings... he's absolutely correct. You need to remove them, soak them, and remember that there are half a dozen different ports/tubes/passages the fuel and air have to go through that could also be stopped up beyond just the pilot jet, and that are causing the same issue.

It would be helpful if someone could just tell me if there is clearance....
