i was just out for a short joy ride this morning . out on a country rode doing 45 in a 45, just putting. came around a corner and theres a opposum in my lane right in front of me . another car was coming in the other lane so i had no idea which way the critter was going to go. i went wide right and got off the road . i had slowed down a good bit but iwas stilll hair raising. this zuke doesnt do as well off road as my old DR did. im lucky it was a stable shoulder that was pretty even with the road. i didnt panic but it was close .

Glad you kept it together. Next time something like that happens though, I'd suggest staying on the pavement to one side or the other of the 'possum.

possums aren't that bad to hit... but i have seen raccoons the size of my dog!! so yeah while i would some times rather hit the critter than go down , sometimes hitting the critter means going down too. so most of the time it's better to try not to hit it.Last edited by il_ragazzo; 05-07-2012, 01:15 AM.Please, Just go home, relax, and have a think or two... hell... have as many as you can handle! I actually have hit one with a car before and it was quite a speed bump.
