  • NEW GSX-650 Katana , Old member... ha ha

Well guys, I picked up my new 2008 GSX-F 650 Fuel Injected Katana last night. The bike had a total of 340 miles on it when I bought it.

This thing is GORGEOUS, from the red backglow digital gauge setup, to the fit and finish of the body!

The bike fires up beautifully, and being Fuel Injected there is no more choke or warmup for the bike!

First modifications to this bike will be a gloss black undertail and integrated turn signals, and the giant muffler will be replaced with a nicer/smaller Yoshimura Titanium 77.

Tell me what you think of the bike!

    Update November 2011:
    New red rim stripes (before/after):

First ride on the way home from the dealer where I picked it up (70 miles):

Picture of the beautiful gauges (I think one of my favorite features of this is the Clock feature so I know what time it is while I'm out and about!):

Old Katana (Left), and New GSX650 (right):

Congrats on the new bike, but it's not a katana.

I agree... lol. Its not labeled as a Katana.... but it is the bike they replaced the Katana with. It isn't a GSXR, and it isn't a Bandit exactly, it is a mix of the 2 combined. It still retains the same GSX-F name that the Katana had... but now the power has been bumped to a 650cc instead of the 600cc. And its fuel injected now instead of carburated.

I have to say the gauges are super nice, they come with 2 different trip control settings, a reserve fuel indicator, a 12hr clock, digital readout of MPH, a sweeping RPM gauge, they do a digital display to tell you what gear you're in, and they do a cool little dance on startup (my favorite...lol).

Nice thing about the 650 i've found out is that cruising on the highway at 70mph is only like 5.8k rpms. And the bike comes with a 13,000 redline.

Neither is the teapot next to it, but it's still a GSX of sorts.. which is what matters around here, right?
