  • *Any Ideas*

    All,

I have a 1993 GSX600F. The starter switch "dowel" where it sits in the clip on hole is missing. Its not really a huge problem, but I guess it could be a serious concern being as though the switch moves on me when I'm riding from time to time. The screws on the switch are holding the switch on the clip on for now.

without replacing the entire switch, is there any ideas that you guys might have to modify the switch or maybe replace the dowel somehow ?.

other than that the switch works great !.

Wrap about two layers of electrical tape around the bar under where the switch housing tightens down. It'll help.

You may still have that dowel. I can't remember off-hand but on most bikes it's a metal tab that people will bend up out of the way if they don't like how it's sitting. The fix may be as easy as bending it back up so it locks into the hole in the bar.

Mine did the same thing. I drilled out the plastic, cut the head off a small screw off and glued it into the plastic housing. Complicated... but free.

That sounds like a great idea ! thanks, I think I am going to do the same. I'll drill the housing and find a screw or something.

        Thanks
