  • Arkansas road trip video... Go Pro HD

We hauled the bikes to Arkansas this past weekend and all I can say is Holy Shiz.... That State is awesome for riding! We got a little over 800 miles in for the weekend. 500 miles Saturday we rode from 10:30 am till Midnight. Then got up and rode Sunday morning till 5:30pm. Loaded up and drove home sore as heck but with a smile on my face!

For some reason I lost a bunch of video as the Go Pro shut off 2 minutes after I turned it on. Kind of upsetting because the road it was supposed to be videoing was one of the funnest ones we rode! Oh well... There will for sure be another trip soon!

Still got a ton of footage from the trip so here's a 10 minute video I put together from all the riding.

Yeah.... That'd be nice! We have friends in Bentonville so we stayed there but rode down to Mena and every where in between Saturday. Went to Poteau Oklahoma on the way back Saturday night, Then Sunday rode to Jasper,Eureka Springs etc... It was one hell of a long but fun ride! We almost went out towards Little Rock Saturday but we had too much ground to cover further South.

I have to do that soon, i've got family near russellville, but haven't been up there on a bike yet. Don't know why, just haven't ever done it. Seeing this make me want to REALLY bad. Time to mark the calender for a road trip!

I love the riding in Arkansas. Start making plans now to go back again. Even with all the riding you did there's great roads you missed. Guaranteed.

              Edit:
Just watched the vid. Glad to see you're leaving yourself plenty of lean angle to spare but watch that passing on the double-yellow. Plenty of farm trucks and tourists (staring at the scenery instead of watching the road) out there. I was on a really tight road in that area a couple of years ago and got a little surprised when I came out of a blind, 180 degree right turn right behind a farm truck hauling hay at all of about 10 mph! Yay good brakes!

We could see clear up the road and there are no cross roads on that section. I wouldn't pass unless it looked safe to pass for sure! I know exactly what your talking about. I almost got taken out by a car leaving Jasper. Went into a very sharp left hand turn at the bottom of a down hill and there was a car that fixated on my friend in front of me and never even looked at me when he pulled out.

If I didn't tuck my head into the bike it would have been resting along the back side of his car! I couldn't hit the brakes in full lean so I chose tucking my head in and trying to not ditch the bike. The worst thing you can do in a case like that is panic!

It was very close but I'm still alive to talk about it thank god!

How sharp could it be? We are talking about Jasper, MO, right? There aren't but about three curves in the whole county!

No..... Jasper Arkansas! It was on a part of Jaspers Disaster run... 56 miles long and 316 turns! There's more than 3 turns there.

Oh, now that's a way better place to ride than Jasper, MO! The Buffalo river area is incredible, huh?
