  • NEW LEDs

I picked up 4 packs of pink LED strips from walmart and decided to put them on my bike. I noticed you can cut them and resolder wires on so I ended up cutting them up and making a pile of custom sized LED pod strips.
Its a purple/burgandy bike so figured it would look better then red or blue
Ive added some more since the pics were taken but here is a run down of the 66 I have installed.
I still have5 strips of 3 left, so may add more later
2 strips of 9 leds under the rear fender
1 strip of 6 LEDs on the fairing between the two vents pointing down to light up the engine on each side
1 strip of 12 under the dash
1 strip of 6 on the curved part of the headlight brace
1 strip of 3 on the fairings for the carb vents
2 strips of 3 under the headlight shining down on the fenders
    and
1 strip of 3 on the back side of each heel gaurd
I also lined the innerside of the fairings with alluminum foil tape (duct tape) and that really helps reflect the light everywhere

It doesn't matter what you ride, as long as you ride.

                Aprox $140 total

Walmart sells the flexable LED kits here in Canada for $ 29 each I bought 4 kits. I bought some shrink wrap, 16awg wire, fuse holder and crimp ends etc.

I know there are cheaper kits but you cant even compare it to my frineds StreetFX kit that cost $70 and came with 2 pods of 4leds and two strps of 6 leds. my bike is so much brighter and actually lights up the entire garage and the road around me when riding.

i went with this style because they are adheasive back and stick anywhere. ( although I did zip tie them or silicone them into place where it was easy to do so just for extra protection)
                they are flexable
low flat profile and easy to hide
cut to length for more custom fit
the one thing I hate about most LED or neon installs it being able to actually see the light itself. I hate that, all I want to see is glow so they had to be hidden so when you walk around the bike you can't see any lights.

here are a few day time shot
as you can see the lights are all hiden and so is all of the wiring except for the signal wires and the side fairing wires

                      the reflective aluminum tape

Very awesome! Do you need an extra power source or does the stock battery hold up well?

I ran them for 2 hours with the bike off and the battery voltage never dropped below 13V ( started at 13.2v) so i assume there is VERY little electrical draw

they are wired directly off the battery though.

It looks awesome. Do you think yours is that much brighter because of the aluminum tape or is it just a better led. Going to be doing a theme for my bike pretty soon and i def. want some sick lights to look good. I definitely will be going to Walmart thats for sure.
