What? You mean yours didn't come with the 6th gear? Oh, you got ripped off! The 6th gear is the most valuable part!

Ok, so taching out 5TH gear then...... Seriously, how's the power on it? And what are you running for carbs?

lol... Nah really though...power is fantastic. Still need to do a very little fine tuning to the carbs...i had been running a header and slashcut mid pipe without fairings and it had tons of power up top...put the more restrictive exhaust on along with fairings and now it seems to be a little rich top end and kinda levels off after 9 grand instead of pulling like a freight train. Gonna drop mains to 128 from 132 to see what happens. Carbs are BST36SS Mikuni's (pre 750 carbs) with stage 3 DJ kit and K&N dual pods. Moved the powerband a ton with the different exhaust first gear the front wheel wont stay on the ground anywhere after half throttle at 4-5k rpms. Torque like mad... Ive seen 155 on it (speedo reading)(i weigh 140lbs) with a 14/48 sprocket set-up and no fairings to hide behind...well see what i can do with some aredynamic help

maybe it's just an optical delusion, but is the chain a little loose?

Can't wait to hear how it goes. Tell us about the pucker factor!

If it is as new as it looks, it will stretch a bit with all that torque until it gets broken in. Keep an eye on it.

I think thats why it got loose in the first place...i think its right where it needs to be now...hopefully it doesnt stretch more...

According to my manual it '89 and on used the BST36SS carbs (my motor is a 90). So they are stock carbs, just jetted. Still waiting to save up some money for some 38mm Mikuni Flatslides..

38's came on the last generation of oil-cooled 750, but a lot of people put them on the 1100's. I think the last year of oil-cooled 1100 had 40mm carbs though...... at least that's what OSS says.

I know the German ones came with 40MM, I know cuz I have a pair from Germany sitting in a box waiting for the day I change the bike over to a Street Fighter. They won't fit with the plastics on, too high, and pushes the tank up!

Really? So how did the German bikes accomodate the extra height? Different tank and plastics?
