  • cleaned up the bike, trying to consider best mods (pics)

I've seen a good deal of heavily modded bikes out there, and was wondering if I should do the same to mine. I'm tending to think since its pretty clean for the year to leave it alone, like it would somehow be devalued if I start molesting it. does anyone else share that point of view? Or maybe I can find a couple tasteful updates that still retain the clean factory/sleeper look without making it look butchered.

I was thinking turn signals maybe clear or the hugger kind (too much?), tank bra (stick on), wheel stickers, maybe undertail mod. I want it to look cohesive, not patched together. Probably no carbon fiber. I should probably leave the rear fender alone.....

Here's some pics of what she looks like now:

WOW! That is a seriously clean pre!

I agree on the hugger type turn signals, it could really make it look alot different.

Just be sure that whatever you do, you can put it back to stock (if you think you'll ever want to) before you do things to it, especially with a pre thats that clean.

BTW, the painted mirrors look amazingly good

If your bike was stricly factory as clean as it is... I would say yes, leave it that way and maintane it.

But... your bike isn't stock. You already have a fairly modified bike compared to the other options your talking about.

      Tinted windscreen
      Painted mirrors
      Painted grab bar
      Aftermarket Exhaust
      Painted Swingarm
Possibly painted front forks... look a bit dark.
      Custom seat/recovered seat.

I don't think it would be an issue at all if you continued the theme of "sleeper" type mods, not overly exotic, but slight tweeks to continue making the bike your own.

haha....thanks Krey. Putting it that way makes me feel like kind of a dummy for bringing it up. I look at the bike and the only thing that looks like an "add on" is the windscreen and can. I guess I should have phrased my idea/question better. I do want to make it look clean, and not exotic as you put it.

I'm thinking of maybe trying to fit some newer factory suzuki turn signals like off a bandit on it to update the look a bit but not make it look like a collection of Ebay $10 specials.

Looks very clean! I'd say updating the turn signals and repainting the exhaust piping black will be a nice couple things to start with. For a free mod I would say readjust the wiring loom that goes by the right fairing opening. There should be a holder for it on the top right side of your carbs.

Its hard to tell, but I don't think those are stock brake lines either.

Hey, don't feel bad about bringing it up. At the very least, you have given the rest of us an opertunity to closely look at a sweet and clean looking kat!

I think you (or whom ever did it) has shown very good taste in the mods done, and a continuation of that is not a bad idea.

                Very nice!

I would do the red pinstripes on the wheels, smaller blinkers, and cut off the shovel(there are some very clean ways to that).

+1 on cutting off the shovel and adding some updated turn signals. What I did on mine was put the low profile aftermarket signals up front and then cut down the arms on the rear signals to make them not stick out as far. It was pretty easy to do and it really helps update the bike. Check out my garage for pics.

Thanks for the input. I'm trying to find the cleanest turn signals I can. I kinda like the flush mount front singals, but can't find the combination of lends color and bulb I'm looking for. I do like the 3 versions I'm linking below. The arrow ones look well made, but damn pricey. I don't think they'll fit the front since they are 10mm right? I don't want a dinky turn signal at all. I don't mind the stalks being shorter but I want the actual light portion to be close to stock in length. No 1/2 inch lights.
Let me know what you think: 1st one may be too small

                    I really like these:

I think this tank bra would compliment the colors of the bike nice without looking over the top:

Don't do anything to it but ride it and maintain it. That bike is otherworldly classy.
