  • 55HP @ 240 lb.

    This is just too cool

Talk about a great first bike, or great fun bike for experienced riders!
240 pounds wet and with somewhere around 55 horsepower, holy fun batman!

As for Design Cycle, we plan on offering kits in various forms (estimate late October availability/delivery for version 1.0; version 2.0 which will be a different style ?available ~December 09):
If you own a CRF450R, then we can sell you just the street legal chassis (title included). If you want the complete chassis (minus the engine), that will be the next level kit. Top level kit, will be a running/driving CB450R.
Some other points, we built this kit knowing that you could run it as a street legal bike?and at the end of the day?put the CRF components back on your dirt bike that day for competition on the dirt track. Very quick to put together and apart.

Seems like a cool idea. I only wish it were a twin instead of a single. But it would end up heavier.... something like a GS500 or an SV400. Probably by putting a GS500 or an SV400 (or 650 in this country) on a serious diet, you may be able to get it down around 340 lbs, but that's still 100lb over this little ditty.

I hear ya on the twin Idea. But you would have to go meat and potatos with it! I bet a 350 Yammie Banshee motor would put a bit more twist in that thing! And only add about 50 lbs or so.

Sry, not trying to call ya out here but your a bit off on your specs. With a few mods its more like 80hp. This is simmular to the kit that I had on mine with 38mm carbs. Highly recommended set up IMHO

O RLY? got some dyno chart to show for it? I'd love to see it crank out 80HP.

We're talking about 350 Yamaha Bashee, right? no incrrease in displacement correct?

                    I shouldn't get into this....but...

my 1997 RM250 two stroke dirtbike was rated at 51 hp when it came out.

Now we're talking about a 350 two stroke, and it's a twin. It's probably around the same I would think. I won't back up the 80 number....but I wouldn't rule it out either.

I never dyno'd the bike, never really cared that much. But I will absolutely argue that can do waayy better then 35hp with mild mods

                        60-65HP maybe.. 80HP from a 350cc Yamaha Banchee 2-stroke twin, not likely.

How exactly would you make a 2 stroke road-legal anyway? I don't think they allow that anymore (with the exception of old bikes from when it was ok).

Sounds like a heck of a lot more then 35hp but what ever, its not that important.
