Just ordered a FEK from http://www.ronayers.com. His site stated that the Compeition Werkes is for the 06 - I will post picks as soon as I install the kit... Paid $113 which included shipping...
Will update soon....

Got the kit in on Saturday.. .I was impressed by the way Ron Ayers packaged the kit.

The install was fairly easy.. I chose not to use the slim lights.. I was not comfortable cutting my wires... even though i knew it would easy..

Here are the pics...

Yes but dude, Comp werkes is very clean and doesn't look sloppy underneath.

Looks good Badroc! I spent the 100 bucks too when I first got the Kat because I did not see a homemade one that appealed to me. We may be crazy but we made the money!

I have the same kit, and I think it was a total ripoff. The only thing in the kit that cost anything to make are the slim turn signals (which I didn't even use).

Looks nice, but can be done for under $20 and a bit of time.

No worries...
I read the how to's and i felt that my cutting technique utilizing a dremel tool is not up to par.. please look at the above pic.

Nor did i want to go to my local home depot, lowes, etc. to look for hardware...

If you have any pics, please post them of your fender eliminator kit

Badroc13, it looks great! I wouldn't worry too much about some of the comments. You know what they say about opinions.

Would you be interested in selling the slim lights? Do you have a pic of them?

I have the same setup on my Kat. I think I paid alot too. But that was two years ago, when I first got the bike. Didn't have a PC, used my sisters and found 58cycle.com. and bought one.
I didn't use the small lights either, as I put in the intergrated blinkers in the tail light.

Got Badroc13's slim lights installed on my '05 today. Thanks Badroc13! I also did a little chopping on the shovel. I'm sure there will be more cutting to come!

The pic is a little messed up, but you can see the clear slim lights. Definitely better looking than the HUGE amber ones from the factory.

I did point out that the pic was messed up! At any rate, I had some issues uploading it via my FTP client. A perfectly good picture turned into that every time!

I'll work it out tonight.

I too paid the extra $ for the CompWorks Fender Eliminator. Was it worth the $120... In my opinion, yes. The time it saved me to fabricate one myself was worth it, but to each his/her own...as long as you are satisified w/ the end result that is all that matters. I used the Comp Works slin lights as well...a relatively easy splice job with the stock connectors...here are a few pics.

Here are the rest...

I'm still new here but its been frustrating me in other threads as well. Why can I not view the posted images? It shows a box in the message with the file name and tells me how many times others have viewed it but I can't see a link or an image.

I know it's not a date expiration issue since these images were posted today (within 2 hours ago).

Any help for this newbie is appreciated.

Thanks

Spud,
Check the settings in your profile. If that is not it, you may want to check you settings in Internet Explorer (Tools...Internet Options...if that is what you are using).

Check the settings in your profile. If that is not it, you may want to check you settings in Internet Explorer (Tools...Internet Options...if that is what you are using).

Thanks for the suggestion. Can't see anything in either location that would make a difference. I normally use Firefox for browsing, so for kicks I switched over to IE to see if it made a difference. Still nothing. The annoying thing is that I can see some images, but not others. For instance, I can see the double image in this thread from mharrison but there are other images that I can't see. It rather frustrating to say the least.

Thanks anyway.

Spud,
It happens to me every now and then as well...but reloading the page will fix it about 80% of the time. I'll pm the pics too you if you like.

I put the competition werkes kit on mine it looks good.

I used a razor knife to cut the shovel off it well.

The tail section was very very hard to get back on.

It took alot of yanking, prying, pushing, shoving, some paint scratching, sighing and smoking.

But it went back on.

I am very suprised it didn't break.

Did anyone else have trouble getting the tail section back on?

It was a little tight...I had to pull it off a couple times to get it lined up right, but once it is on its on.

My buddy was the one who forced it on.

I don't think I would have had the balls to force it on like he did. I thought he was going to break it. He was prying the metal underneath with a screwdriver to get it on.

God Forbid it ever has to come off for some reason.

I don't think service shop would like that to much.

badroc13 you got my helmet and our fender is set up the same way but i payed four bucks for mine. I recently took a dremel and altered my stock exhaust and now it sounds bad ass.
