View Full Version : muffler connector/gasket

I bought a new D&D slip-on a few days ago, but I'm having a hell of a time trying to get the midpipe through the muffler connector/gasket. I was wonder if anyone else has came across the same problem? Any tips or advise?

All the slip ons from what I have seen are a tight fit. Just take your time and wiggle it on. I would put the mid-pipe on first and you may want to use a rubber mallet to help get it seated. Then put the canister on.

I put my mid pipe in a bucket of ice water, let it contract, then put it in, helped a little.....

Yup, it is a tight fit. ALso you might want to use some high temp rv sealant for where you connect the can as it tends to not seal 100% there. Cheap stuff available and any autp parts store.

Thanks for the tips...I'm gonna try the bucket of ice and maybe a real thin coat of grease on the inside of that gasket. I have some high temp silicone that I'll use for up around the can.

the ice water w/ the grease worked well :)
