  • 1997 750 V&H SSR2 on a 1990 600?

Hi guys, had a quick question for ya'll.

I have a chance to pick up a Vance and Hines SSR2 full exhaust system for cheap. It's meant for a 1997 750 Katana. Will it fit my 1990 600 Katana? Or let me rephrase that, "How much blood, sweat and tears (and money!) will it take to mount it?"

I understand that a stock 750 headers will fit onto the pre-98 600s with a bit of modification (per Cyber Poet's instructions), but have not been able to find any info for aftermarket headers.

    Thanks for any help!

I thought I posted about this today already once? Oh well.... The 750 header should fit on the 600 okay with no problems.

The thing is... it's a full system so you'll have to jet to compensate not only for the after market header, but for the additional flow of the 750 header.

        Check this thread....

I didn't read it closely enough... you might have some minor fitment problems. Everything should line up, it just might not fit right.

What do you mean as far as "fit"? I figured I would need to either modify the oil pan or put a dent in the collector. My main concern is where the headers attach to the exhaust ports - a little dremeling I can handle, but if it's way off then I'm out of luck.

Yeah, I mean you might have to dent the collector, and trim the belly pan. The V&H isn't specifically called out... but the pipes should be the correct spacing and size.
