'95 Kat 600 issue

I just got my bike and the previous owner thought it would be cool to remove the mirrors and smooth out the front with bondo. Can anyone give me suggestions on how to fix this so I can get the mirrors back?

I haven't really thought about that. Does that make it more difficult to manuever? I don' think I'll be able to turn the handlebars as far.

The mirrors are on the end of the bars like where the ends screw on so I don't believe they would interfere with your turning. I just always wondered if they are far enough forward for you to see naturally, or would you have to lean back to take a look? Anyone here have them?

You could always remove the bondo if you really want original mirrors, but you will almost definately mess up the paint job. If it is cherry, find something else, if it has seen better days and you are already looking to repaint... knock the bondo out and bolt up originals.

Court, it definitely is not cherry. The guy Dave bought it from meant well I guess, but his skill didn't match his vision. Dave is contemplating colors as we speak.

I've got a pic of my bike on my profile. You can see what the previous owner did. It looks pretty good without the mirrors, but that's not much good to me.

i have bar end mirrors on my 95 and theywork so much better then stock and you do nt have to lean back at all
