Fire season wasn't very busy for me this summer, so I was shorter on the bike funds than I was hoping for, and I happened to fall into this deal. It's not in perfect condition cosmetically, but it has 12k miles on it, and runs like new. I traded my 88 Honda 250R quad, and $1800 for the bike. I feel it was a pretty even trade, and so does the PO.

Very nice. Those are great bikes.

Cut the stinger off the back and do a reflector delete and it will look like a different bike.

yeah I have some plans for it, but will probably have to put mods on hold until Nov or Dec when I get some more money in. Want to get a Yosh R3 exhaust for it, a set of helibar risers, adjustable rearsets, and want to fab a mounting bracket under the seat so I can mount a Corbin backrest for the wife.

I rode my '90 Kat 600 for 13 years, I've been wanting something else for quite some time now.

i guess the bright side about not being called to SoCal for the fire is that you get to enjoy the rest of riding season on your new toy. Congrats.

Hopefully you and your wife have better luck on the GSXR than some other members and their girlfriends...

Enjoy the new ride, she's purrrrdy.

We took it on a 180+ mile ride last Sun on it, and she said other than not having a backrest, she was actually more comfortable on the GSXR than on my pre 600.

You'd have to fight the wife to get her off the back seat, and she can be pretty tough.

Planning on it, thinking about making it the last 2 weeks in Mar next year though instead of the first 2 weeks. Maybe it will be a little warmer early in the morning for the desert crew.

That awesome. I tried to put a backrest on my busa for my wife and she said she didn't want one, there is a little difference in the seat on the busa vs the gixxr though. The furthest I ever took my wife without stopping was about 350 miles and she had a blast.

I bought some drawer liner material (thanks to SKNL for the idea), and made a no-slip cover for the rear seat. Should help a lot until I can get the backrest and mount for it fabbed.

Needs a bigger muffler.

I KEED I KEED!

Lookin' good and the "seat cover" idea wasn't all mine. I forget who mentioned it first.

Yeah I know, but you mentioning it got me thinking about it, then my friend with the ZX14 recomending I order one of those covers the very next day convinced me to go ahead and make one to give it a try. lol
